They edges may not line up right.
The color may not be the same in every spot.
The cutting may be off by a little...
or maybe by a lot.
We may have scrapes and bumps in our relationship.
We may have sad memories
We do have a lot of great memories.
Just because you say...
"Its far from perfect,"
Doesn't mean it isn't perfect to me.
We spent some time together.
We worked on a project together.
We smiled
We laughed
It was perfect enough for me.
I will keep all the scrapes and bumps in our relationship,
To help me remember what to do in the future.
I will keep all the line edges in not a straight line,
Nothing is every going to be that easy,
There will always be things in the way trying to stop me from my goal.
I will keep my splaty coloring,
To help me remember all the fun we had.
I will keep all the off cuts,
To remind me of all the times I was hurt and came to you.
The sad memories, will make me stronger.
The great memories, will help me later in life as well.
You may think it is not perfect.
But just as we aren't perfect.
It is all perfect enough for me.
This poem was written for my Dad. We were working on a project in the garage and he kept saying, "Its far from perfect." I finally got to the point and told him, "Stop saying its far from perfect. I like it and it is perfect enough for me." This poem is for him and to tell him even will all the scrapes, bumps, splotchy colors, not straight lines, off cuts God is always there and is always perfect. I love you Daddy and will miss all we do together when I am gone.
